What LocalSiteShop collects, what it does not, and how to reach us.

Who we are

LocalSiteShop builds websites for local businesses. This policy covers www.localsiteshop.com, including the free website checker and the pages on this site. If you email us or hire us, the same rules apply to that information.

The short version

• No advertising trackers. No Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no ad pixels, no session recording, no third-party analytics scripts. Nothing on this site loads code from an external analytics or advertising provider.
• No cookies set by us. We do not use tracking cookies, and we do not use cookies to follow you around the web.
• No selling or renting your data. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to anyone.
• No accounts on this site. There is no login, no newsletter signup and no user profile for the free tools.

What the free website checker records

The checker at Check your website has to fetch a site to tell you whether it is up. To do that and to keep the tool abuse-resistant, our server records:

We do not store request headers, request bodies, or a copy of the page contents we checked. The checker reads the site you give it and keeps only the lines in the table above.

Server logs

Like any web server, ours records ordinary request logs: IP address, timestamp, the URL requested and the response status. These exist for security and for diagnosing faults, and they are not used to build a profile of you.

If you email us

We keep your message and your email address so we can reply and, if you become a client, so we have a record of the work. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not use your email for advertising.

Our X (Twitter) account and automated replies

We operate an X account under the LocalSiteShop name. Some replies from that account are produced by an automated assistant.

• It replies only to mentions from accounts on our maintainer allowlist. Mentions from other accounts are ignored.
• Replies are public posts on X. They are visible to anyone, including people who are not customers.
• Please do not send anything private in a mention. Treat anything you post to X as public.
• We store the authentication credentials for the account securely on our own server. They are never published on this site.

Who else sees your information

Only the service providers that have to run this site: our hosting and DNS provider, and our email provider. They process data only to deliver the service. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

Checker log lines are short-lived operational data and are rotated away. Emails stay in our mailbox as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our business records.

Your choices

Ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email shoaib@localsiteshop.com and we will deal with it. This site is not aimed at children, so we do not knowingly collect children's information.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after that means the updated version applies.
