The realistic lifespan

A well-built static site lasts three to five years before it needs a refresh. A site built on a hosted builder lasts about the same, but the moment you stop paying, the site is gone.

The thing that actually kills a site is not age. It is the slow accumulation of plugin updates, security patches, and certificate renewals that someone has to remember to do. After a few years, somebody is no longer doing them.

Signs it is time to rebuild

The site is slow on a phone. The contact form does not work. The gallery shows images from three redesigns ago. The "designed by" credit in the footer goes to a company that no longer exists. You are embarrassed to send people to it.

What a rebuild costs

A flat-fee rebuild, done in 24 hours, is $600. After that, the only recurring cost is the domain.

Questions we get about this

Do I lose my Google ranking if I rebuild?

Not if the domain stays the same and the new site uses the same URL structure. Most rebuilds hold ranking within a week.

Can I just update the existing site?

Sometimes. If the underlying platform is healthy, a refresh is enough. If the platform is dead, a rebuild is cheaper than the update.

How long does a rebuild take?

The site itself is built before we contact you. The whole thing, end to end, is 24 hours.
